Madness are a British pop/ska band from Camden Town, London, that formed in 1976.The band continues to perform with their most recognised line-up of 7 members, although their line-up has varied over the years. They were one of the most promitent bands of the late-70's.

The magazine "Rolling Stones" was particularly scathing of the SKA revival in general, skating the Madness were simply "Th Blue Brothers with English accents".

In 1980, the band's second album, "Absolutely", reached number 2 in the UK charts, and "Baggy Trousers" peaked at number 3 in the UK singl charts. The video of this song was shot in a school and park of Kentish Town. The band's saxophone player, Lee Thompson, decided he wanted to fly through the air for his solo, with the use of wires hanging from a crane. The resulting shot is one of the most popular of any Madness videos.
